Agreement between the NEMS Foundation for the Arts and Participating Artists

The Vortex Artec Expo, curated by the NEMS Foundation for the Arts and led by Marianne Nems, bridges art and technology. This event showcases diverse disciplines, including film, digital arts, traditional forms, music, choreography, and live performances. This agreement clarifies the requirements, fees, and benefits for participating artists, establishing a mutually beneficial partnership with the NEMS Foundation.

Artist Opportunity Policy

We are thrilled to announce that applications to showcase at VORTEX ARTEC Expo 2024 are now open. Register and create your profile on Artrade.club to enter our contest. The application fee is $48, and the deadline is November 15th, 2024, at 5 pm.

Event Details

  • Date: December 5-8, 2024
  • Location: Beachfront, 21st & 22nd Street (between The Setai Hotel and The W Hotel), Miami Beach
  • Hosted by: NEMS Foundation for the Arts with the sponsorship of the City of Miami Beach

Triple Exposure Opportunities

  1. Interactive On-Site Experience: Displayed on door-sized touchscreens featuring our boundless 3D VR/AR gallery with the 50 selected artworks.
  2. On-Site VR Showcase: Within the Dome, located near Art Basel’s venue.
  3. Online Exposure: Featured for 12 months in the VORTEX 3D VR Art Gallery.

On-Site Showcase

  • 50 artists will be selected to display one artwork at our beachfront venue, visible to top collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts during Miami Art Week and for 12 months online. This opportunity provides a platform for immersive connections and solidifying your position in the art world.

Virtual Gallery Feature

  • Your work will be displayed on vertical digital screens throughout the venue, providing the same visibility and prestige as a physical exhibition. This dynamic display captures the essence and impact of your piece.

Additional Benefits

  • Prestige and Credibility: Participation in VORTEX ARTEC Expo alongside Art Basel 2024 places you among a curated selection of recognized and innovative artists.
  • VORTEX 3D VR Art Gallery: Your artwork will be showcased in AR format online for up to 12 months or until sold, enhancing your presence in the digital art scene.
  • Social Media Promotion: Your brand and artwork will be promoted through our social media platforms before and during the event, reaching a growing audience.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with industry leaders, galleries, collectors, and potential buyers, whether on-site or in the virtual gallery.

Application Process
To participate, register on Artrade.club to set up your 2D gallery and upload your artwork (up to 100MB in data storage). An application fee of $48 is required. Enter our “Artist Opportunity Program” here before the deadline on October 30th, 2024, at 5 pm.

Exhibitor’s policy:

Policy for Artists and Exhibitors Not Participating in the Artist Opportunity Contest

For those artists and exhibitors who prefer not to enter the artist opportunity contest but still wish to participate in the VORTEX ARTEC Expo, the following guidelines and policies apply:

Participating Artists after October 30th or non contests participants

Participation Requirements

  1. Registration & Subscription: All artists must create an account and subscribe to the beta plan on Artrade.club for seamless onboarding.
  2. Exhibition Fee: A standard fee of $550 for live performances; fee waivers are available upon formal request.
  3. In-Kind Contribution: Artists granted a fee waiver must perform or showcase daily throughout the four-day event.

Booth Exhibitor Benefits 

Artists with booth participation (fee of $10,000 or more) receive exclusive benefits including daily presentation slots, panel participation, social media features, and integration into the VR gallery.

NFT Participant Benefits

  • $3,000 Group Fee: Up to five VR artworks in the group VR gallery.
  • $1,800 per Slot: Up to three NFTs displayed in the VR gallery.

1.Registration & Fees:

  • Artists must create an account on Artrade.club and subscribe to the beta plan for exhibition access.
  • Standard exhibition fees apply, with costs for the main exhibition area at $3,000 per slot.
  • For those interested in NFT exhibits, the fee is $1,800 per slot within the Dome space.
  • Artists exhibiting in a booth format must pay a minimum fee of $10,000, which includes specific benefits detailed below.
  1. Exhibition Benefits:
    • All participating artists receive one year of free access to the Artrade platform, allowing them to present their portfolio, sell their work, and utilize marketing support.
    • Artists not participating in the contest may still showcase up to three pieces in the virtual gallery upon subscribing to any paid plan.
    • NFT artists who subscribe will have the opportunity to upload their digital assets, including NFTs, videos, and media, free of charge for one year.
  2. Exhibitor Benefits:
    • exhibitors paying the $10,000 fee or more will receive a 20-minute presentation slot daily on the LED screen and stage.
    • They will also be invited to speak on daily art panels, gaining visibility and the opportunity to network with industry professionals.
    • Exhibitors will receive dedicated social media promotion and a personalized webpage on the VORTEX ARTEC website.
  3. Sales Policy:
    • The NEMS Foundation does not take commissions on any sales made at the Expo; all proceeds go directly to the artist.
    • For sales conducted through the Artrade marketplace, a 15% commission is applied to cover operational expenses.
    • Sales conducted at our VORTEX Artec Event will incur an additional 15% fee to cover curatorial services, payable directly to the art curator assisting with the sale. However, if the artist does not require curatorial assistance, no commission will be applied.
  4. Participation Commitment:
    • Artists are expected to adhere to their exhibition schedule and engage with attendees. Commitment to the allocated time slots ensures a seamless experience for all participants and maximizes exposure.
    • Exhibitors must respect the event’s schedule, ensuring their presence aligns with their registered time slots.
  5. Event Setup and Breakdown:
    • Exhibitors are responsible for setting up and dismantling their booths according to the event schedule provided upon registration. All exhibitors must adhere to the venue’s guidelines to maintain the integrity and smooth operation of the event.
  6. Exhibitor Conduct:
    • All participants must maintain professional conduct throughout the event. Exhibitors should engage positively with attendees and other artists, contributing to the collaborative spirit of the VORTEX ARTEC Expo.
    • Any damage caused to the venue or other installations by an exhibitor will be the sole responsibility of the artist or their representative.
  7. Acknowledgment and Compliance:
    • By registering for the event, artists and exhibitors acknowledge and agree to abide by the policies set forth by the NEMS Foundation for the Arts.
    • Failure to comply with these policies may result in the loss of participation privileges.
