Lumen: A Beacon of Resilience

In the circles of friends and family that enfold us, the insidious shadow of illness has too often darkened our doorsteps, with  cancer cutting most deeply. I’ve pondered, with a mixture of awe and sorrow, where the patients struck by this cruel fate find the strength to persevere through the agony, to endure, to resist the siren call of surrender…

It is this extraordinary power that I sought to capture and represent within my work titled “Lumen.” The lantern, veiled with a translucent dress, stands as a metaphor for this inner light of tenacity and hope which burns undiminished in the face of life’s harshest storms—a beacon for those navigating the darkest nights.

Our protagonist is Claire—a contemporary dancer and a dazzling street performer from France, whose talents have ceaselessly enchanted audiences, earning her numerous accolades. With her performances, she weaves magic, crafting spectacles that uplift and inspire, much like the indomitable spirit of those touched by illness.

Her foray into cinema, “Poèmes,” pays homage to the visceral life of street artists and fellow creatives. This was not just a film, but a lasting tribute, celebrated last year at the Girona Film Festival, where it garnered substantial praise. 

The artwork will be shipped in a sealed cardboard box and covered with bubble plastic film. The certificate, which accompanies the artwork, is also in the sealed box.
